Question 22, block 2, on USMLE practice CD -step 3 asks about a 56 year old man s/p MI, who is coming to the office 2 wks. after discharge. It asks which test would be appropriate.
2 of the choices say - ECG exercise stress test and Exercise Stress test.
They say the correct answer is Exercise stress test, but what about the ECG exercise stress test, or is that just an error?
thanks

the 1st choice is exercise stress test, unless there is a contradication for the excercise test, kaplan notes have this covered look into that

Yeah, I understand that exercise stress test is the answer, but what is the difference between that and an ECG exercise stress test? I thought they were the same thing.
thanks

guy s/p MI already has ischemic changes on EKG so EKG exercise stress test will not be as helpful. I believe the correct ans involves exercise stress test w/ ultrasound. Just a thought...
