So I'm just wondering what we can do before the AMCAS is released? I know write the PS, but I heard we can prepare our E.C.s? How is that formatted on the AMCAS? Also can we do grade conversion now?

i thought there was some sort of amcas worksheet that you could download and fill out and it pretty much the same as the online app...that way you know exactly what you need to enter into the online app...but i can't find that link....

I was afraid we'd have to provide contact information. What should I do if I were to put my old job down...problem is I don't know any contact information anymore for that place (fast food restaurant, high turnover even among managers), should I put down a contact from the corporate HQ? I'm guessing they could verify my employment

There were several EC's that I didn't put down contact info for. Something like a fast food job, I highly doubt they would check.

On the other hand, it would be hiliarious to put down the CEO of McDonalds or wherever you worked as the contact person

If you create an AMCAS account you can probably fill out the 2009 application now, which will most likely be identical to the 2010 app once it opens.

It will give you the character limit for all the ECs and PS and you can practice inputting all your classes/grades. Then you just print out all the info and wait for the 2010 app to open up and re-enter everything from your print-out.

So you can register without applying/submitting? does that cost money?

the 2009 app is still open? also, does filling one out count as applying for that cycle?

What's the point of asking for a contact's name without asking for their contact information (phone number, e-mail address, etc.)? Or is that somewhere else in the application...

As long as you don't click submit, you haven't applied anywhere. I suspect the 2009 app will stay open until April 30th, which is the last due date (some school in the Caribbean).

There is plenty of time for you to fill out AMCAS (like a month) after it comes out before you can submit it at all. So you shouldn't have any problem filling out the sections on time - just do it carefully and go over it several times to catch any mistakes.

Good luck!

If you dont submit can you still get the final print out in the end?
