I have found a few physicians that I am very interested in shadowing,
But a lot of them don't have "face to face" listed as a communication method.

Should I understand this as meaning they are not interested in shadowing and only want to correspond via phone calls/ emails?

When I was applying, I contacted two of the mentors on the site who didn't have face to face as a commmunication method. One of them was so busy that the phone was the best method to speak with him, and the other just had a baby so his free time limited as well. However, the one with the new baby eventually met with me for lunch and allowed me to shadow him. He later wrote me an outstanding LOR. So anyways, the mentors who don't do face to face may just be real busy, but once you speak with them, they may eventually end up meeting with you in person.
