Out-of-state applicants – the criteria is very competitive and it is also our largest applicant pool. The applicants who meet the following academic criteria at the undergraduate level are considered competitive applicants: a minimum science GPA (BCPM) of 3.49, minimum cumulative GPA of 3.59, and a minimum total MCAT score of 514.

It looks like it would be a donation since you would not be considered. Would it be possible for you to acquire instate residency if you currently live there?

Hi guys I guess I wanted to ask two questions: The first one being, UNC was my alma mater but my place of residence is not Carolina. Is it still worth an app? (applying to ~25 schools this cycle)

ORM with application really focusing on primary care and patient interaction
Volunteer and did research at their hospital/SOM
516 MCAT (128/126/132/130): hoping the 100th percentile in Bio/biochem pulls some adcom attention
cGPA: 3.52 (Last 40 credits being a 3.82)
sGPA: 3.42 (Last 40 credits being a 3.69)

Absolutely love the school and the student body but not sure if I'm just wasting time and money. @Goro

Although I did get in this cycle as an OOS at UNC, the odds are like near zero. They only interview like 150 out of 5000+ OOS applicants so unless you have a really compelling reason beyond going to UNC undergrad like service to NC or rural medicine in NC its probably not worth it.
