Question about Berkeley Review

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
most people here recommend BR for most of the topics in the mcat but the BR books are published in 2003 😕 and the test have been changed after that date (computer based)...

im just confused why people recommend a book thats 6 years old rather than the books being renewed every year, such as Kaplan and TPR

Dude, you're quite annoying. This isn't your first post regarding this matter. They update their books. I have 2008 books. They have the copyright on the inside cover. Where are you getting this 2003 crap? If you're too cheap to buy new books then stick with Kaplan, TPR, or EK. I reiterate anyone can do well with any of the aforementioned books. The advantage of TBR is they explain stuff in greater depth and have the best passages for O-chem, physics, and gen-chem. I have everything: EK 1001 for all subjects, 2008 TPR Books, Kaplan Book, and of course TBR. I've read through them all. For weaker students or bad test takers TBR is the best. Why? TPR will explain and give you 3 examples. TBR will explain and give you 10 examples so there's no way the MCAT can present it in a way you won't understand. Go to their site. All their books are updated. They're coming up with their revamped G-chem and Physics in October but the current ones are good and of Fall 2008.

well couldn't he just tell what you've just wrote instead of being rude? Its not like I have a 2 hour memory. and if I don't find an answer to something I'll ask it over and over til i get the answer.

You asked this question already in another thread. BRT answered your question as did a couple other posters. If you go to their site you'll see that they update their books. Finally, there is a huge difference between the 03 books and the 08 books. If you had done a simple search on the TBR you would have had more info than possible. I seriously don't get a majority of the posters here. People ask the same questions over and over again when there is a search function that will answer 99.9% of your questions instantly. Of course I'll be rude when others took the time to answer your question and then you go ahead and start another thread regarding the same topic. That's just as rude.

The editions are different. This has been stated multiple times by berkreviewteach. The copyrights on all books I have are 2008/2009.

someone should update amazon then

dude, http://www.theberkeleyreview.com/. look in classifieds on SDN or ebay. No one gets these books off Amazon, they're old or in bad condition. You say um ok, you're quite insolent. The thought of googling TBR never entered your mind? Finally, did you actually think we'd be lauding books that hadn't been updated in 6 years? Sometimes people need to use some common sense. BTW, Kaplan DOESN'T update their books. The science section is the same now as it was in 1998 and TPR is largely the same. The only one that does is EK sometimes and TBR which is why I always suggest the aforementioned two to anyone.

If they're listed as 2003 on amazon then that is what they are because that is what the people who are selling them on there have. If someone had a 2009 book to sell, then it would say 2009.

a lot of amazon is similar to to something like half.com buddy... just random people selling stuff. it's also been said many times that newest editions can only be bought on berkeleyreview's website. in fact, if you read the reviews on amazon, there is usually just 1 review and it's by an editor who also says the only place to buy a new copy is on their website.

where the hell is the publishing date on that website.. how would i know if the book is from 2008 or 2000 ??????????????????????

Don't bother with TBR. If you can't figure out their site then you'll despise their shipping methods. Just use EK like you wanted in that other thread and save yourself the trouble. Click on a book like Gen Chem I and then scroll all the way down. You'll see the copyright. The site is old but did you even attempt to scan it? Just look for copies on ebay or sdn classifieds because based on your track record I can see a TBR shipping is stupid rant coming.
