Alright, so i started undergrad as a bio major but had to switch majors in junior year due to family circumstances. I took A&P, microbiology and general biology during my freshman and sophomore years. They were all one semester 5credit courses, (3credit lectures and 2credit labs.) I had an A in all of these classes.
My question is, do i need to go back to take Bio I (molecular and cell biology) and Bio II? I mean Bio I is the pre-req for A&P and microbiology. I do plan on taking biochemistry and maybe genetics in the next spring. Will the adcom accept the A&P, microbiology and general biology as meeting the one year bio requirement? or do i have to go back and take bio I which i don't mind doing but it's just a waste of money especially now that i don't have scholarship money since it's a post bacc.

I did do some research in the forums here and heres a post i found by Mobious1985 http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=519821
Some schools specify "two semesters of introductory biology classes with lab" and they cannot be substituted. Best to call schools where their requirements are not clear and be sure. Why waste application dollars if you don't have the requirements? "

Also what is the math requirement for med school, is calculus enough or do i have to take statistics? I mean i have no problems with statistics but i just don't want to spend the extra money if it isn't necessary.
Thanks.

for both of these you need to get in touch with admissions from your schools and ask them. I had the same question and some schools said no problem and others said I had to take the year of freshman bio.
As for math, calc is probably going to be enough but every physician I know and have spoken with has said the one class they wish they had taken/are glad they took in undergrad was statistics...
