like omfg, what level of details are we suppose to know for this section?

am i suppose to know about things like foraminifera, apicomplexans

how bout zygomycota, glomeromycota, and the other fungi related things?

or do they mostly focus on the big picture instead?

i am freaking out about this

also them hormones and the brain parts ><

Memorize Cliffs AP Bio, read the DNA technology and genetic basis of development chapters in campbells bio, do kaplans bio subject tests, use topscore, and do destroyers bio q's and you will be set for a 20 in the bio section 🙂

If you're talking about the taxonomy chapter, the answer is NO! You don't have to memorize every single name. Remember the broad categories. For example the fact that you have five kingdom, or all the subgroups that fall under each kingdom. Also, you can look at some general trends to figure out what organism belongs to which group. For example, anything that ends with "-mycota" is a fungi. So, you don't have to memorize the name of every single organism that falls into this kingdom.
Pat particular attention to the phyla that fall under the animal and the plant kingdom.

ok thx nze

you seem to have a pretty good AA, can you tell me what you thought of the bio section, is it as detailed as cliffs? i know kaplan BB is too brief though

Cliffs tends to be a great resource for biology. So, you should know it well.

oh and how similar is the DAT bio compared to the OAT bio? my sister only studied kaplan BB and got like a 94-95 percentile on the bio portion... but she did know her stuff from undergraduate classes

if they are similar (since kaplan uses the same book for dat as for oat), i can ask her to help me out some

you need to know hormones and brain parts. i got a couple questions about those.

i don't think kaplan is enough for bio. i used kaplan + AP cliff's + destroyer. i didn't necessarily think any of the questions were tricky, but you either know the answer or you don't. to be on the safe side, try to know as much as possible. easier said than done, i know... just keep trying different things to help you remember everything and take a lot of practice tests so you know where your weak areas are.

no too much...kingdoms, phyla, and maybe some key characteristics about some of the important orders and classes (chordates, etc..)
