Hey guys, I was just wondering whether you had to be a US citizen to enter apply/get accepted into most pharmacy schools? I am a current US resident (green card holder) and I have lived in the USA for 6-7 years. Will the fact that I am not a citizen hurt my chances of getting accepted into most schools?

For frame of reference, i will only be applying to schools within 4-5 hours of baltimore MD (except creighton online).

Thanks for any advice👍

I think if you are a permanent resident then you will be considered equal to a citizen for admissions purposes.

The way to really find out is contact the schools. I wouldn't chance going thru the admission process and then find out that you are not even eligible.

I agree. I know of at least one school that does not accept anyone that is not a US citizen.

I'm not sure if there is a difference between "current" resident and "permanent" resident. LECOM only accepts applications from citizens and permanent residents.

I believe green card=permanent resident. I'd noticed on some of the schools (don't remember which ones) that international students had to send in some proof showing that they could finance schooling before they could be accepted. I'm not sure as a resident alien that that would be required, but it might be worth looking into.

You will be fine. As long as you are a Permanent REsident, you have equal chances of getting accepted as a US citizen.

Permanent residents are treated the same as citizens. You might need to send more information to some schools (i.e. copy of your green card to schools in washington state); however, you will be treated on equal terms as citizens.
