QUestion about classes outside university

I plan on taking calculus classes at a local community college rather than at my university. Is this a wise decision? Will I be able to use that grade and factor it into my science GPA for the AMCAS? My university already agreed that I can take this outside course but I am not sure if the AMCAS will take that grade.. Does this apply to all classes outside my university?

I don't think it woud be wise if you were to take all of your science classes at a JC if you are a student at a university. The adcom would then wonder why you were avoiding the science classes at the university. but MANY students do what you are contemplating. it will definitely not be a problem if you were to take calculus or another class or two at a JC.

just on a side note, i know someone who took business calc. ( which I hear is easier), and had no problems when applying. although there was no way that i was going to risk doing that. but, i did take a stats class that was offerred through the stats department and not the math department.

Oh, I am taking all my science classes at the university (university of scranton - biology/neuroscience double major). It's just that I plan on taking a few classes outside my school like calculus and other GE requirements so I can fit my double major. Thank you so much!
