Does anyone know what this means exactly? I am trying to get licensed soon. Here is the state law for CE credits:

"A pharmacist first licensed by the board within 9 months immediately preceding the biennial renewal date shall be exempt from the continuing pharmacy education requirements for that period."

Please give an example of this.

You're trying to get licensed? Or you're renewing your license?

If you're "trying to get licensed" as you state, CE's don't apply to you.
If you're renewing, and you've become licensed in this state within a 9 month window of the renewal date, CE's don't apply to you.
If you've been licensed in the state for longer than 9 months prior to the renewal date, you have to do the X amount of CE's.

Thanks for the explanation! So if were to get licensed in January 2011 and the licensed expired on October 2011 I wouldn't need to do CE credits, right?

For anyone who knows, does this rule apply to most states?

No.

October is 10 months after date of original licensure. You would need to complete CE's.

Every state does something different regarding CE's and first renewal. Some require half, some all, some none...just read the regs.
