Is having upper division bio courses necessary to fulfill prereqs at most med schools? I have also seen that some med schools either accept calculus or stats to fulfill the mathematics requirement? Should I be okay if I have only done one of them? Is there a preference for a certain type of statistics? Can that statistics course be advanced/upper division?

You should really look at the specific requirements for the med schools you are applying to. They will most likely be very similar but with a few key differences between them. There's no one answer that fits all.

In general, most schools will require a year of biology (and some will require an additional upper level bio course) that can be satisfied with general biology unless you use AP credit, in which case you'll still need upper-level bio courses.

This is info specific per medical school and you need to consult the MSAR and each school’s website. Very generally
1) most medical schools require general or introductory bio. Upper level courses may not satify those requirements
2) math requirement is often a full year and only a couple require calculus.

What about statistics?
