So I know that many medical schools require 6 credit hours of English but do all of those credits have to be from the English department? Also, do most schools take AP credit for the English credit?

So far, I have taken:
1) ENGL 105 - English Composition and Rhetoric
2) ENGL 110 - AP Credit: English Language and Composition
3) AMST 211 - Southern Studies Literature and Culture (Class was literature based and was heavy in writing)

Do I need to take an additional English class next semester and would basically any class from the English department count?

additionally, some schools specifically require ENGLISH courses

So safest bet would be to take another English class? Would any English class suffice, like a science fiction or horror literature class, or does it need to be like an upper level class?
