I finished with a marketing degree and a 3.25 with no science related courses. I'm going back in the fall for the premed curriculum. If *by miracle* I got a 4.0 on my sciences...what would I send off to med school as my overall GPA? Technically, I am declaring a new major (premed) and dropping my old one (marketing - blah)...

thanks...I'd much rather start over, because if you incorporate the 3.25 (which I got without any real effort)...into a 3.75 or 4.0 for the sciences...i think it becomes like a 3.4 or something tops...which adds a lot more weight to the Mkitties...👎

Med schools consider two GPAs: your overall GPA (Science classes included) and the BCPM (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math) GPA. While both are important, the BCPM GPA is obviously more relevant to med school purposes. So good performance in the science pre-requisite will more than redeem your 3.25 non-science based GPA.

You won't be sending your GPA to medical schools....just a list of classes you took and what grade you got. They will figure it for you.
