so i was doing practice qs on titrtaions and there is one thing that i dont understand between 2 qs. in both qs (i am changing the numbers from original question stem)
question 1 is for strong acid/strong base titration.
Calculate the pH in the titration of 40.0 mL of 0.100 M HCL by sodium hydroxide after the addition to the acid solution of (a) 20.0 mL of 0.100 M NaOH, (b) 40.0 mL of 0.100 M NaOH, (c) 60.0 mL of 0.100 M NaOH.
question 2 is for strong base and weak acid
Calculate the pH in the titration of 40.0 mL of 0.100 M acetic acid by sodium hydroxide after the addition to the acid solution of (a) 20.0 mL of 0.100 M NaOH, (b) 40.0 mL of 0.100 M NaOH, (c) 60.0 mL of 0.100 M NaOH.
in the first question the solution guide did not use an ice table but for the second question they did. why did they use one for the first set of qs and not the second?
