So I just started the Kaplan OAT online course and there is alot of material for the DAT on my syllabus..such as lectures and tests/quizzes. Should I do these quizzes/tests on top of the OAT stuff? Im not sure if Ill have time but I think extra practice would help but I was wondering if its the same sort of stuff and would benefit me and what people in the past have done.

Its kinda good they are there because my boyfriend is writing the DAT this summer and I was gonna let him use the course for all the DAT materials and tests.

well i had the same class and my friend was taking the DAT part...and actually we compared our stuff and most of the things were the exact same...so i didn't really look at any of the DAT stuff...but the online material that kaplan has are really helpful so make sure you use them to the fullest

FYI,

The OAT and DAT are written by the same people. The only difference is that there is a physics section for the OAT, and a perceptual ability test for the DAT

Hey Pre Opt Student,

How do you like your online course at Kaplan? I am debating if I should take online course or classroom course. How do you feel about it? Are there differences?

Hey!

To be honest Im SUPER impressed with the course. I would be completely lost without it. Most people on the forums say that you can get the Review book notes for 300 dollars rather than buying the whole course for 1300..but honestly the review book is the part of the course that is the least helpful...there are SO many online workshops and lessons that cover stuff that isnt even in the review book. For each subject in the book, there are like 10 workshops, then an online lesson, and then 5 subject tests on the material. The online stuff is amazing and REALLY drills everything in.

This has been my study strategy so far:
I first just read through the chapters for the section and sometimes make notes if I dont know the stuff...i usually type them cuz its faster than writing it out...then after each chapter there are review problems..so i do those...then i go online and do all the workshops..and write out notes for all of them..and throughout the workshops there are example problems..then i do the online lecture..and then finally complete all the subject tests.

The only downfall is that it takes a LONG time to do each section because there is so much material..but its definately a good thing its so thorough..if i didnt have the course and just the notes..id be completely lost for sure.
