Hello Everyone!
So I am very interested in applying to a few public health-related summer internships, and I was wondering if it's expected or if it looks sketchy if my PI doesn't write me a letter. These internships are not research oriented, but rather internships where you apply through a university program and are assigned to work for a local non-profit or county public health department. I'm not as close to my PI as I am to some of my other professors who I feel could really write me strong letters of rec.
Thanks in advance for your advice!

If the internships aren't research-based then a letter from your PI is definitely not an expectation. Choose whomever you think will write the strongest letter and who you feel you have the best relationships with.
