Hey guys. I got accepted to Ophtho for July 2013 and I am currently about to start my internship. My program gives us a couple of days of educational leave a year. Instead of going to an ophtho meeting I was thinking about doing an ophtho skills workshop, if such a thing exists. Just something to teach me skills that I would need for first or second year of ophtho (whether it be a wet lab, cataract simulator, etc). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

None that I know of. There is a cataract course somewhere but that is geared to residents in training that have actually already done real cataracts. Same for the retina course I have seen - for fellows.
I would go to AAO if I could and they would pay for it. There are courses there that still would be over your head but you would have a large list to pick from and it is fun as a newbie.
