I saw a thread about a week ago about pattern folding. Now do you fold away from you or towards you? There were mixed reactions to this question and I would like to know once in for all. Thanks! 🙂

The faces of the patterns face outwards, so the only way to form the proper shape with the patterns on the outside is to fold away from you.

I read that conversation and most people said that you fold into the screen. I am 99% sure that's how you do it (that's how I did it on the DAT and I did well on the PA section). Think of the pattern as a dissected 3D shape that has been laid out like an animal skin. What you see is the outside of the shape, just like the fur of a bearskin rug...

If you try to do it the opposite way (folding towards you) I think you'd end up with the enantiomer in some cases which would be a wrong answer.
