What is the day like? THey say to be there from 8-6 pm, because the interviews are quite variable in schedule. I am trying to meet up with a potential post-doc supervisor while I am there, and I will only be there for that day.

Do you think that it would be ok if I called the admissions office, explained my situation, and asked for my interview day schedule?

Thanks guys 🙂

I think that's totally reasonable!

On my interview day there were about 12 of us interviewing. I was done at 3:30 PM and there was only one other person waiting when I left. Most people were done by 2:30. If you explain to them your situation, they can have you out by at least 2:30, if not earlier.

Only other thing I can think to tell you is be prepared to walk up and down hills on the tour. Luckily, I am a guy and had comfortable shoes. But, it was tough for girls in heels.

Thanks for the reply. I called them and they said that they will arrange to have me finished by 3:30.

The shoe thing--I learned that the hard way. I have pretty comfortable heels, but after doing three day long interviews back to back, I had to bust out my sneaker mules for the tour. I know I looked like a dumb ass in my skirt suit, but I couldn't face the pain any longer. That weekend I bought some cute flats for the rest of my interview tours. Those tours are killers, especially when you have done a bunch of interviews all together and you begin to not care about details like the new peds wing of the hospital.
