if you really werent good enough you would have gotten the boot...
you getting an interview now depends on the other applicants and how qualified they are. if adcoms feel that a bulk of the applicants are better than you are then you will be let go months later...
however if for some reason their applicants arent meeting up their standards as they would have liked...then they might go back to you and give you a chance...
i dunno. i have some preinterview holds...but i dont even bother with them...gonna pull out from a few and save them the trouble.
