Question about rejecting an interview

I received an interview invite from a med school, and I RSVPed a date. However, I have now decided that I don't want to interview there anymore. If I email them to cancel my interview at this point, will it be considered rude or obnoxious? Or would it be understandable?

People withdraw all the time. Not withdrawing and just not showing up would be rude. They really won't care much otherwise.

Its understandable. Just call or email the admissions office or the individual who scheduled your interview and tell them that you have decided to decline the interview instead. Schools wont really care much.

As the application season progresses schools will see this more and more as students who have been accepted to one school don't want to shell out the money to go and interview at other places even though they had RSVP'd for an interview date.

Does it really matter if they think you are rude (which they won't). You will officially be considered finished for that school but it's not like the ADCOMS from all the schools get together and talk about the premeds that they don't like.

well, it's not all about whether adcoms get together or not. It's a matter of courtesy here.

I stated that it would not be rude. I was just explaining that whether the ADCOM thinks it is rude is irrelevant. The OP needs to do what is right for him/her.
