Thanks in advance for reading this.

I am currently an American MS4 applying to Neurology. I have 2 specific questions about how the ROL works.

1. There are some neuro programs that offer both categorical and advanced positions. I interviewed at one of these places and noticed that I only applied for a categorical position. Am I allowed to rank the advanced program as well? If so, how do I go about doing this? Can I just add the advanced program to my list? Do I have to apply to the advanced program on ERAS first? Do I have to notify anybody at the program that I am going to apply/rank their advanced program as well?

2. There are some neuro programs that offer a guaranteed prelim year. I neglected to apply to one of the prelim programs on my ERAS at first. Again, can I just add them to my ROL? Do I have to add them on ERAS first?

Thanks, again.

These are both questions suited to the PC/PD at the programs you're referring to. No answer on here will be guaranteed to be correct. Go to the source.
