Hello,
I am a 4th year medical student at a USDO school and i am on the F1-visa (Canadian Citizen). I know that programs that offer an H1b first ask their incoming residents to complete intern year on OPT, but I was wondering, can I still do my intern year on OPT at a program that doesn't offer H1b, and then transition to J1 or green card? (since OPT only lasts 1 year)
I'm not sure if programs are accepting of OPT since they don't mention anything about that on their website but it is a form of work authorization so I can't imagine they would have an issue.
Thank you!
