So let's say I graduate dental school in one state, but right after dental school I want to work in a different state. What exactly is the process you have to go through so you can work in that other state? Do you have to take any extra exams or is it just forms and stuff to get a license in that state?

Also, do you automatically get a license in the state you graduate dental school from? Also if you get a license in a different state, do you keep the license in the other state as well?

Thanks!

Not positive, but I'm pretty sure when you take your licensing exam(s) you choose which state/region you plan on practicing, regardless of where you go to school. I could also be so wrong though... Haha

NERB WREB they're a pain in the ass because you have to find your own patients and even pay them. you might even have to work out their travel situation and expenses if your exam takes place at another school. i noticed you tend to ask easy questions that can be answered with a quick google search. why don't you do that next time.

It depends on the state. However, most states require some additional exam on top of the national boards if you are applying for a license.

CRDT, WREB, NERB etc.

You are allowed to hold multiple licenses.

So let's see if I got this straight... In dental school you can choose which exam you take, out of the CRDT, WREB, and NERB. There are some states that accept certain ones, so you must choose the right one for the state you want to practice in? But after you have passed that certain exam, you can practice in any state that accepts that exam? Any addition state licensure requirements?

Overall though, once you pass that certain exam, it's a relatively easy process to be a dentist in any state the accepts it?

some school only offer only one of the regional exams. other schools offer multiple ones. if your school doesn't offer one, you take it at another school but you have to do all the work in setting up an exam by yourself. it can get quite expensive.
