Hi,

Sorry, this has probably been asked, but I can't seem to find the answer.

I'm still waiting on my latest mcat score that''ll come out in Sept. I have yet to submit my secondaries. Is it considered normal or late to submit secondaries in end of Aug/early Sept?

Thanks guys!

This is an experimental year. In years past, there were 2 MCAT days, so if you took the August MCAT, you were automatically late. However, now people can trickle in whenever they feel like it. You also have to realize you're asking SDNers, which are notorious for submitting everything as soon as humanly possible.

That being said, you're probably around average if you submit your secondaries now. You'll start hitting late in September. This is, of course, assuming schools that have already passed out secondaries.

i submitted my primary "late" and wans't verified until october last year. i still got 3 interviews out of 7 secondaries. i obviously didn't get in to any of them. but as long as youre not a horrible applicant, you still have a chance this "late" in the game.

do they only start reviewing it after the score is submitted? or do they review your application before they get the score and then make the decision immed after receiving it. i hope they do review it before the score, otherwise im late and screwed!

I don't think you need your MCAT score to be verified by AMCAS. However, you won't be complete at schools (so they probably won't look at your app) until you have a score, or any pending scores are reviewed.

Most schools won't look at your application until it's complete. But if sending the secondaries in Sept is the best you can do, then submit them and don't worry about it. There's still plenty of time to get interviews. Good luck.
