I'm certainly not trying to painstakingly plan out my life through fellowships. Not at all. I'm just curious about what sort of things I could do.
I will be applying MD/PhD. I really enjoy research and am interested in elucidating the mechanisms of comorbid neurological and psychiatric disorders in order to provide treatments that actually work for things like depression and to perhaps look into drugs that can treat both comorbid conditions simultaneously, such as migraine and depression.
In terms of specialties, I have interest in neurology, psychiatry, and endocrinology. So I was wondering...
1) Endocrinology is a subspecialty, yes? What is the specialty it falls under?
2) I have heard of neuropsychiatrists and neuroendocrinologists. Is there a subspecialty such as neuropsychoendocrinology? (I get the impression that's not an actual thing, but I thought I'd give it a shot haha.)
Thanks!
