Hey what does everyone think about these summer plans?

I currently work full-time as an accountant, have all my pre-med prereqs completed, am filling out the app for 2011 right now, and live in Texas. Right now I am signed up for Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 this summer at the local community college, I'm going to be doing Genetic research all summer and fall on with a prof for a four-year institution, and I'm taking a medical terminology course at the comm college. I'm also volunteering saturday nights at JPS county hospital in Fort Worth and volunteering for a hospice. I already have over 1000 hours of shadowing from a job and 300-400 hours community service/volunteering so I'm not worried too much about those...

How will medical schools view my decision to take Spanish classes as opposed to taking upper level science courses? I have not had any upper level science courses above and beyond what is required for medical school, but I feel like it will become increasingly important for physicians in the south to speak Spanish and there will be no better time for me to start learning it.

Thoughts?

Thanks

........... Medical schools will care why? I mean unless medical schools expect you to kill yourself every summer ( which they do not), there's no problem. I mean honestly medical schools won't really care about you taking Spanish 1 and 2( They really couldn't care about individual classes that they will think your taking to graduate on time). It's no problem, medical schools know that you have other interests so they won't be like why didn't you take biochemistry during this summer or some other bs like that. Not to mention I don't know why your taking classes, your summer work load seems way too heavy. Full time job + research + school = disaster.

Yeah I know it's a lot but I'm taking the classes because I really want to learn Spanish. Last fall was harder than this when I was working 70 hours a week in two jobs, taking class, volunteering, and then got sent out of state for two weeks in the middle of my Genetics class to train for my accounting job. It'll be tough this summer but it's only 8 weeks.

Of course, I would know a lot more about what I actually NEED to do if I had my MCAT score back haha.
