A friend of mine told me that the adcoms are just a bunch of people selected to do the interviews and it changes every year. Thus its impossiable to say who will be interviewing you when its your turn. What do you guys think?

Adcoms don't usually do the interviewing. Interviewing is usually done by the faculty and current students.

I have no clue if Adcoms change every year. I doubt it. I'm sure they loose a person or two each application cycle, but for the most part, I'd say it's the same people. Schools don't really advertise who is on their Adcom.

o I see, I thought it was the adcoms that did the interviewing and made the final decision, so I guess only the later is true

I have a lot of helpful information about the adcoms:

- they have six heads
-8 legs
-they eat little children for breakfast

Sorry for my stupid joke but I just couldn't resist to goof around a bit. I figured with all of us being stressed about applications we need to have just a tiny bit of fun. 😍

Admissions Committee

As far as the person above who said they don't do the interviewing, my experience was just the opposite. Each set of interviewers had one person on the admissions committee, so it was vital to 'win them over' so they would say good things about you when they deliberate over who to give admission to.
