How do they give out the list of unfilled programs during match week?

Does everybody get the list or do only people who did not match get the list?

Do you get a list for all the unfilled specialties or only the specialties you applied for?

Thanks...

Only people who didn't match get access to the list. But everyone gets the same list of all open spots.

Examples:

Applied categorical only -> matched -> no access
Applied advanced only -> matched -> no access
Applied prelim only -> matched -> no access
Applied prelim & categorical -> matched categorical -> no access
Applied prelim & advanced -> matched both -> no access
Applied prelim, advanced & categorical -> matched categorical -> no access

Applied prelim & advanced -> matched prelim but not advanced -> access to list
Applied prelim & advanced -> matched advanced but not prelim -> access to list
Applied prelim & categorical -> matched prelim -> access to list

Applied prelim & categorical -> matched prelim -> access to list

Really? I didn't even think about this, but I suppose it'd be beneficial to see if you can scramble into a categorical spot. How 'bout that...

Nope -- you are bound to the prelim program for that initial year. You make a binding commitment to go wherever you are matched when you enter the match.

I guess the point is you could try to scramble into an open advanced slot, if there is any, so that would be the only point of that list.
