Hi all,

I'm currently going to a Community College in Virginia, right now I have a 3.7 which will more then likely move up to a 3.9 by the end of this semester.
I would like to go to a University in the Fall, so I was wondering if you guys could give some advice to where I should go. Due to some circumstances I can only to go Universities in D.C./Maryland/Virginia, and I know that there are some schools I can not apply to now like UVA/Virginia Tech, William and Mary, etc...since the deadline has passed.

I know the few following schools are mediocre, but in your opinion what might be the best one...or if you have any others please tell!

-Virginia Commonwealth University
-Old Dominion University
-Hampton University
-Salisbury University
-Norfolk State University

I was thinking about Hood College and Goucher College as well, but they are a tad bit too expensive.

I believe all these schools are tier 3 (with the exception of the last two colleges), how difficult would it be to get into a tier 1 Medical school or P.A. program?

Umm......Use the silly guaranteed admissions program and go to VT or UVA or William and Mary or George Mason or WVU(not VA but close) or Georgetown(not guaranteed but close). WVU is not very far away, and all of the VA state schools you can just transfer starting in the spring. Also VCU is not bad.

Sounds like a good idea. 👍

OP, of the schools on your list, the only ones I would consider are VCU and ODU.

Come to William and Mary! We have a guarenteed admission program with community colleges in the area, and it's a really wonderful (albeit difficult) school 🙂 I'm graduating in a couple of months, and I'm really happy that I came here.

Thank you all for the responses,

I will apply to VCU and ODU for the Fall, I think if I also apply to the Honor's College at both it shouldn't be too bad. From there I'll decide whether or not I want to enroll in those Universities or wait another semester and apply to UVA, VA tech, W&M and UM in the Spring, [Although I don't think I can stand another semester at my CC]. I'll be 21 in May and I know it's high time for me to move out of my sedentary and very sheltered lifestyle and get back out in the 'world'.

Take a semester off if you have to.
