Hello,

I am a second year D.O. student debating whether or not to take the USMLE in addition to the COMLEX. I know that the general consensus seems to be to go ahead and take the exam, but I have another queation. A couple of people on this board have said that a person has the option of NOT reporting the USMLE scores if they do not do well on them. On the other hand, a couple of my professors told me that once you take it, the score is always reported wherever you apply for a residency. If any of you could help clarify this, I would greatly appreciate it. I have generally been a somewhat weak standardizd test taker, and although I believe that I can pass the COMLEX with no problem, I am a little concerned about not doing well on the USMLE, and thus having the USMLE hurt me more than help me. Thanks in advance for any responses.
