Question about working as Clerk

Hey... So I wanted to become a pharmacist in the future. What is the role of a "pharmacy clerk" because there I saw an ad of a local hospital accepting volunteers for that position.

Hi Azn,

When I was in high school, I studied to become a Pharmacy Clerk in the Pharmacy Clerk Program offered in collaboration with a community college.

Here are my notes:

Pharmacy Clerk Functions

• Point of sale
• Control inventory
• Daily schedule of assignments
• Input Rx into computer system
• Make and receive phone calls, emails, faxes Doctors, Patients, Insurance Companies

Hello AZN:

I am currently a 'pharmacy clerk' up here in Canada. I got this job b/c I went around all neighbouring pharmacies to see if anybody'd take volunteers, and my current manager ended up hiring me as a clerk. I do pretty much everything that a tech does, however, withOUT the pay 🙁 but it's been a great learning experience!
