I will have worked for my parents for 10 years at the time of my application (I started when I was 11). They own their own real estate business and I work about 7hrs/wk for them. I appraise houses online mostly, if that matters.

Is this something I can list as work experience on the AMCAS? Will it be looked down upon because it isn't a "real job"?

I don't see any reason why you shouldn't list it. It's a work experience most applicants will not have, and I think it will just help make you a more unique applicant.

If you did real work, it's a real job. Lots of people work for the family business.

Thanks for the words of encouragement 🙂
