Question: are peer tutoring and research considered collegiate extracurricular activities? If both are also paid, should I count them as work or EC?

Thank you! 🙂

On the AMCAS application, they don't distinguish between work and extracurricular activities. You get 15 activities you can list, so you have to account for jobs you worked to pay your bills, research, student organizations, and volunteer work in those 15 slots. If you mean for secondaries that do distinguish between paid work and extracurriculars (I can't remember any of mine that asked), I guess you could count them as either, depending on which area you need more of.

yes, both tutoring and research are extracurriculars, even if you got paid for them. i did both (and got paid) and used them on my amcas. i think you'd be making a mistake to not list them.
