Hey

I was recently hired by CVS as a P1.
However, I'm told that I have to first be CVS certified in order to receive the full pay. So do I just work in the pharmacy while getting CVS certified (doing the modules) on the side simultaneously? Without completing the modules, will I have enough knowledge to work in the pharmacy (I have no prior community retail experience)? Also, I think some modules require me to take a class. Are these 'instructor' modules an actual class where I have attend or is it just a form of learning where I simply shadow my preceptor in the pharmacy?

thanks so much

First thing, quit worrying so much, you'll get an ulcer.

second, you'll do all the cirriculum and stuff while working there, and with the on the job training you should know everything you need to to work competently. You'll go to a class or two taught by the regional trainer, it's nothing, and you'll do the CD's on your own (you can do them all in an afternoon or two). Good luck, I started with them in July, started school in august, and they've been great to me.

A classmate of mine works for CVS as an intern (P1), and he said that he started getting paid less than the full pay b/c he was not CVS certified yet. However, once he finished his certification, CVS back-paid him for all of that time that he had been working and not getting full pay.
