My school wants me to take a chemistry exit exam (for graduates; not the ACS general or organic exams). It is some kind of standardized exam that is given out by a number of universities.

Does anyone have any information about it (such as the name)? Also, does it cover everything, from general to physical?

Is your chem degree accredited by ACS ?

I know at our university our degree is and we don't have to take exit exams.

I don't remember if it was a nationall standardized exam, but the exit exam did cover everything that we learned over the 4 years, including PChem.

Yes, it is accredited by the ACS. I don't have to take it, but they make me feel obligated to do so. They also made me feel obligated to take an extra course that is not listed in the catalog under the degree program.

Actually, they lie and tell us that we have to take the class. Nobody wants to make them made them angry, so we just do it. Every year, I tell them that they should update the catalog to actually include the class, but they always forget.
