I was informed last week that this Friday is going to be my last day of work at my current employment (They're putting in a new computer system that will do my job....). My sister-in-law gave me an idea of how I could find a new job, working in a dental office. My plan is to go to all the dentists in my area on Monday with a copy of my resume to ask them if they are interested in hiring me for 9 months or so before I (hopefully) head to dental school. I have worked in dental insurance for a year, so I will ask them if they need help with their billing/scheduling... My question is this... is this something that would be productive for me to do (meaning would a dentist actually hire someone like me)? What salary should I ask for (what is a standard salary/hourly wage for this position)? Any input you can give would be appreciated! THANKS!

Go to the main dental forums page. There are forums for actual dentists and dental students. This is a pre-dents forum, so most of us are aspiring dental students. You will find better information in other forums.

Yeah, I've already put this post in the dental forum, too. Thanks though.
