has anyone who has reapplied in the past or is going to reapply for 2007 used the same personal statement as in their last application? i'm sure that writing a new essay might help your application, but if u had an essay u ilked, would it look very bad to send it again?

check out the FAQs on the aadsas webpage regarding reapplication using the same personal statement. aadsas says to not reuse your old personal statement. makes sense since im sure the dent schools would like to know what you have been doing (ie taking more classes to make up for grades, community service, leaderships..etc) to make yourself a stronger candidate for dental school. anyways, gl!

did anyone reuse the same statement?

I made a few small changes, but basically used that same statement. I felt like my reasons for wanting to become a dentist haven't changed over the past year, so why should my essay.

I see no problem reusing the same personal statement. If you feel like the one you wrote is good, and can't be improved upon i would stick w/ what works with you. A personal staement should probable be something close to your heart, so one who argues that it's lazy not to write a new one, probably is not writing a very sincere personal statement. I did however have to shorten mine, b/c somehow the length requirements were shorter for 2006 v.s 2005, so I'd check that as soon as AADSAS is up so you can edit it appropriately, btw this can actually be hard as it is tough to decide what to keep and what not to keep when it all seems important. Also, do emphasize any recent improvements in your application when possible. I got into 2 of 3 schools I interviewed at, with essentially the same essay, so I dont think its much of a problem.
