Question for UC berkeley pre-meds? (warning kind of personal)

I have a sister that is a pre-med at UCB she is taking intergrative biology there. Since she has been there she hasn't called me. I have called her a few times and most of the time she is very busy. At some point I got very ticked off and wrote her an email and told her I don't have alot of time to keep calling her so when she is ready to call me she can. She never replied and I am somewhat ticked off by this. I am also trying to be understanding. Are UCB pre-med to busy to call their own siblings?

Actually, she's probably wayyyy too busy studying. I wake up at 6:00 am and start studying. I have classes that start at 9 am every day and I study at the library in between all my classes...I don't even go back to my apartment. I don't eat or go to the bathroom ...because that would just take up wayyyy too much time which is better spent studying. I just go to class...then head the library...until my classes are done for the day. I then go back to the library and study until the library closes at 11 pm. I then go back to my apartment and sleep until 6 am again and the process starts all over. I carry around intravenous tubes which I use to inject food into my bloodstream..that way, I can get away with not wasting time for breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. I'm thinking about just buying a year's supply of NoDoz pills...that way, I can just study throughout the night..every night...that way, I don't lose precious studying time for sleep.


P.S.: Sarcasm mode off. I don't think anyone can really tell you what's up with your sister. My best advice is just to email, keep calling, etc. I'm sure she's not too busy to talk with you. Integrative Biology is a great major though...I wish her the best of luck in it.

if your sis isn't calling you back it's not because she's too busy studying, especially since she's IB. regardless of the major though, i cannot imagine not having 5 extra minutes in your day to make a phone call. contrary to what most people say, IT IS POSSIBLE to have a life being IB or MCB at Cal. there's absolutely nothing wrong with studying a lot, however, once it begins consuming you that's when you realize a break is needed.

yeah........i majored in MCB - BMB emphasis and also had 2 minors.
took 200 units and worked full time and still did decent throughout my 4 years there.

i graduated may 2002 so its not like ive been out of the school so long that IB and MCB got that much harder in the time i was away.

if shes trying to get a 4.0 at Cal, yeah i guess she can have no life and study all day long.

but trust me.....she has time to call or at least answer calls to talk. maybe she just doesnt want to talk about her school or is just annoyed at something. does she like cal? i love berkeley and all the workload or anything never brought me down or stressed me out too much cause i just loved to city and could always relax myself by going and take in the town.

is this her type of personality? i mean i dont know what to say...but i do think she has time to take your call at least. you are family.

Yeah, she has time to call you. Chew her out when she does finally call you back. 😉 Life is all about priorities and balance. Spending five minutes to call your sister should be on the top of the list, 4.0 student or not.
