for those of you who attend or are familiar with UC Irvine, i was wondering if you could give me some feedback about the school (anything off the top of your head). I have an interview there on Monday and I wasn't able to learn that much about the school since most of the website is under construction. I would really like to know more about the outreach programs (i.e UCI Campmed), research opportunities, and the structure of the curriculum (i.e problem-based learning or traditional lectures?). Pretty much any info would be helpful to me, so I would really appreciate any comments. Thanks a lot =)

i am an MSII at UCI...as far as the questions you are asking, much of this information will be covered during the informational session in the morning prior to the interviews. here is my two cents anyways. there are all kinds of outreach programs available at UCI. its seems like every week there are student run screening clinics going on. a majority of these services are directed towards the latino communities in the area. also, LOTS of research opportunities. often times it is as easy as going up to one of the professors after lecture and asking about their research and whether they need any help. the structure of the curriculum is traditional lectures. but the lecture hours are pretty reasonable. first year as i remember averages around 3-4 a day. but the lectures are optional. anyway, good luck on your interview.....best advice is just be yourself
