So number 80 on the 2009 exam. it shows a Carbon connected to a 3 carbons and a hydrogen and asks for the bond angle.. It says the answer is 120 degrees but since its a sp3 carbon shouldn't it be 109.5? just making sure its a mistake and all this studying isn't making me go crazy.

I would agree with that because tetrahedrals are 109. Did it give an explanation in the answer key?

They messed up some of the answers on purpose, Im goin to do the 09 test soon and Ill post on here when I find the corrections.

bump - was this in fact an error or is the bond angle actually 120 degrees? It asked for the bond angle between two sp3 single bonds so I think it should be 109.5. Any confirmation?

the attachment is the original question. Says answer is D however I still think it is C.

I just took it, too, and noticed the same thing. It think you're right. It's 109.5.

Although an old thread revived, worth mentioning nontheless.

The 2009 Ada test actually has 2 different versions. One with an incorrect answer and one with a correct. The angle it refers to is different on the different versions.
