no, don't capitalize "optometry" 😡

NOTE: I just put the mad face in because it is funny looking. It has no context in my message.

Well, whenever you write the names of schools, you should capitalize it. For Example, The University of Waterloo School of Optometry, Berkeley Optometry, Illinois College of Optometry.
It really depends where you put it!

I'm thinking the OP meant 'optometry' as in "I have been interested in optometry since I..."..

I think it shows attitude and asian-ness when you write it as "oPtOmEtRy." You're bound to get in!

I don't know what it is but students these days can't read or write cursive and cursive is in decline. So professors have to resort to printing out individual letters on the chalkboard. And some professors write in all CAPS but every once in a while, they'll lower case a letter and I always get pissed off at that. C'mon, show a bit of respect for the English language.

Cursive is fine, but I hate seeing it on the chalkboard. It's hard enough just following the incoherence dripping from the corners of some professors' mouths; I don't need the added struggle of fighting to get through their post-graduate–I'm-too-educated-to-be-concerned-with-legibility script. Big block-letters: there's the money.
