Hey all, taking the CCS portion soon. This is likely a very simple question but I wanted to confirm. At the very beginning of the encounter, let's say I want to order certain things before the physical exam (pulse ox, oxygen, ekg, cardiac monitor, etc). Once those are ordered, do I need to advance the clock by 1 minute before going to do the physical exam or do I just do the physical exam?

I wouldn't want the grader to think that I ordered both at the same time when I wanted those initial orders in first.

if you want to know the results of whatever you've ordered before you go to physical exam, then forward the clock. personally, i'd go directly to the physical exam because any test results that come out within a minute would be reported to you with the results of the physical exam anyway, and that way you've saved yourself a few clicks and a few seconds. up to you though, and honestly depends on the urgency of the case :/

let us say you started to stabilize the patient before the physical, you write the orders like iv access and saline and o2 why do you want to advance the clock? just go to physical.
