I am doing the Question method for Step 1 and so far so good... my assessment scores have improved nicely and it really keeps me engaged.

I have about 5 weeks until the exam. I am making my way through USMLERx and have time slated off to finish UWorld right before the test. I wanted to do Kaplan, but not sure if I should do more Rx and less Kaplan or vice versa.

I enjoy Rx and how it points right to FA. Regardless I plan to hit about 6000 questions (including assessments) just trying to manage my time best between Kaplan and Rx.

Thanks!

I don't see a question? 😕 😀

I don't know anything about USMLE Rx besides that it is written by the FA people, and that was the only reason why I decided against it. Step 1 is not made after FA, FA is tailored according to what shows up on the test.... hence... I dunno if I would want to put all my eggs in the FA basket. But if it works for ya' and you're doing well on NBME's stick with it!

haha hey coralis... good to see a fellow SGUer over on SDN...

dude1344 - the question was: should I stick it out to the max with Rx (it has 3000+ questions) and cut down a little on Kaplan, or spend proportionally more time with Kaplan Qbank?

I just wanted to get some more feedback on the differences between the Kaplan Qbank and Rx. So far, people seem to say Rx is easier but good for memorizing FA while Kaplan is picky (maybe irrelevant?) details but more difficult.

I'm leaning towards jumping into Kaplan in another week or so, but wanted to know more about what I'd be buying before I jumped in.

kaplan is very picky however I see the same questions sometimes on UW, the difference is in the answer choices.... made up example

Question: Blah blah blah.... Diabetes insipidus patient, you give them ADH... urine osm, blood osm... of course all irrelevant. Where does ADH act in the kidney?

UWorld answer choices:
a) PCT
b) DCT
c) CT
d) TALH

Kaplan choices:
a) PCT
b) Proximal CT intercalated cells
c) distal CT principal cells
d) distal CT intercalated cells

They just push you to know the stuff more in depth.
