question on residency match n such

Ok.. maybe i dont know enuff about med school in the later years but how does this residency match work? I know the way it goes but i dont really get to what extent if you get to choose where you go? Im just thinkin if i go outa town to med shcool and wanna move back home to do my residency (which im pretty sure i would) would i get to pick a residency whereever i want??? sorry if my question is stoopid 😳

You will apply to your internship/residency. Hopefully, you live in a city that has a lot of hospitals with internship spots.

I don't care where I do my residency. It will depend on what location has the best residency program that I can get into for my chosen field.

Sometimes, you'll do your transitional year one place, and then go somewhere else for your actual specialty training.

Go for the best education. Move back home to practice if you want.

Will you go to CCOM if you get in? It is one of my top choices as well. I can't wait to hear from them.
