Hey, everybody, I had applied to SUNY as early decision, and had everything sent. I took my OAT on 9/15, and three weeks later, I called up to suny about my application status. They told that they had just downloaded my official score, and will review it again, and will reply me back within few weeks. My OAT score is 370/390 (AA/TS), and GPA is 3.66. But now, another three weeks has passed, and there is still no response. I heard that someone got response within two weeks after the test, and got accepted. So I am getting worring right now; is it because my other parts of application not strong enough? Should i start to apply to other schools? So far, I had only applied to SUNY, and I definately want to go there.
I have been checking my mail box for the past month. EVERYDAY.

Hi there,

Although your application sounds very competitive, I'd apply to another school or two. It's better safe than sorry, right?

yeah, i understand your frustration. i applied around the same time - my file was complete by the end of sep. i called when the first set of ppl on sdn started getting letters - and they hadn't reviewed mine yet (it actually took a while to locate my file as well...) i was SHOCKED because some of the ppl who had been invited for interviews hadn't even TAKEN the OATs yet. 😡 not to discount their talent or anything.

anyways, i'm planning on calling the school again this Monday.
i'd say try a few other schools. in all honesty... do you really want to go to a school where they don't treat you very well as a prospective? i understand being competitive, but i don't get disorganization.
at any rate, good luck!

I also called SUNY a few days ago to check on my application status. They stated that they hadn't received my OAT scores, although I took it over a month ago. (They looked up my file very quickly, though.)

To be fair, I don't believe that this is a reflection of the admission's team's organizational skills. It would have been nice if they had let me know that they hadn't received my OATs, but it's not really their responsibility.

I am glad that I called to check on my status, though.

Yes, I am applying few more now.
BTW, I was scheduled to interview during this summer, and it was before my OAT taken. This is a procedure for early decision. But shouldn't I receive earlier than other applicatants with rolling admission?

You should call one more time on next week, because they recieved my score 4 weeks after my test when I called for status check.

They have probably been busy with the first couple batches of interview invitations that they haven't gotten to yours yet. I applied to several schools, SUNY included. I received invitations from most of the schools already except for SUNY and UAB (UAB has a really small class size though so I still don't expect to hear back from them). I had already given up on those two after not hearing from them for over a month since they received all my materials, but was surprised to find an invitation in my mailbox two days ago. So no worries, your stats are better than mine, you'll get your invitations 🙂

I already had my interview with SUNY this summer. Now I am only waiting for their final response.😳

Ah heh. Don't worry, they're just slow 🙂 but ya, always give yourself backup options just in case. It'll preoccupy you while you wait on SUNY.

hmm..
i think the week that i "e-mailed" my oat scores..or maybe the week after..I got the acceptance letter.
dr. johnston is always on top of everything...
one thing i would like to add: unlike waterloo (< this part is just perceived information so don't take it as a fact), suny looks at all aspects of your file. from research to volunteer to publications (if any) to awards to doctor shadowing..basically everything.
one of my oat score was below 300 for those who want to know.
