question on topscore cd

There are three exams and each one seems to get progressively harder. With Topscore you can take each section individually or take them all together as a full length exam.

Do the tests create random questions and answers each time you take it? Or are the questions and answers always the same. The reason I ask is because I would tend to memorize the answers.

Unfortunately the questions and answers are all the same. If you take a section over again you will encounter that same questions and in the same order. If you are worried about memorizing answers (which is a valid fear) and creating a false-sense of security, then you might want to purchase some other practice material, such as acethedat.com . However, I would read some of the other posts concerning these other materials. How close are you to your test date? Have you just started studying?

Actually, just starting...So, I'm looking for some study materials to use. Right now, I only have my class notes and old textbooks. But I'm looking for other materials as well. As far as a test date, I'm not in hurry though because I plan to apply next year for matriculation in 2006. I got take care of some other things first.

It's great that you are planning ahead for the DAT and already developing a start on the material. What I would recommend is, if you are really a glutton for punishment, then purchase the Kaplan book now and start actively thumbing through its many pages. I have the second edition and the third one is no different than it so obtaining a soon-to-be-obsolete information is highly unlikely. Use it to familiarize yourself with the format and what to expect. Don't be that person who is one week out from their test date and posts a thread wondering what this PAT section is all about. This brings me to Topscore. The cd's come with somesort of time device. While they won't self-destruct, you won't be able to use them after seven months from the purchase date. A buddy of mine ran into that problem one week before his exam and we erased his cookie folder, temp files, and the like and nothing worked. He had to get something reset by the company in order to proceed with their program. In short, purchase Topscore about three to four months from your test date as you really don't need it until then. Best of luck!
