Hi guys,

I just want to eliminate my doubts. With Interfolio, I can get Professors to e-mail them a letter of rec.and then use Interfolio to mail them to either AMCAS or the schools that I apply to, am I correct in thinking this?

Also, what if I were to get a written letter of rec? Can I just mail it?

Last but not least, let's say if I load up letter of recs for this cycle but decide to re-apply next cycle, will the letters still be in the system and will I be able to use the same letter of recs?

Thanks.

Yes, using interfolio, professors mail, e-mail, or fax their letters in, and you can send them off to AMCAS or individual schools.

You probably shouldn't get a written LOR directly, because this removes the confidentiality agreement you 'sign' when you add LORs to your interfolio account. If your letter writer wants to mail in a copy of their letter, print out a paper that links their letter to your account and give them a SASE to mail it in.

There's a great deal of discussion about reusing LORs, but if you sign up for more than a year on interfolio, they will remain in the system. This is the case even if you sign up for a year, and renew before your account expires.

What about if your account on interfolio expires and then later down the road you decide you want to use them again. Will you need to re-submit your letters of rec or can they retrive them once you sign up for membership again?
