Would it be typical to send the physician you're shadowing a thank you card?

Also, when they write their LoR for you, do they list their credentials, like what medical school they graduated from? One of the physicians I'm shadowing is an alumni from my number once choice MD school so I was wondering if getting an especially good LoR would help with my chances of being accepted there? (Not really looking as a bribe to the med school, just want a very well polished application) Thanks everyone!

If he took the time out of his schedule to accommodate you, I'd say yes. I plan on getting mine a thank you card and perhaps a gift card even though I'm not asking a letter from him. Besides, if hes writing you a letter, then I don't see a thank you card negatively affecting your LoR at all.
