Hello, don't post much on here but I shadow around. I've recently been offered to join a team here at my campus to aid in their research. The professor has proposed what seems to be a choice...there's two ways I can be "officially" on his team. One way is to enroll in an "Independent Studies" titled course worth 2 units (graded course with evaluation at the end of the quarter), another is to go under salary pay (it's not much, but still a nice chunk of change) under the campus. He told me that a lot of undergrad.'s going into research do the 2-unit course but there are also plenty students that take the salary pay. I asked him twice to clarify the significant difference but I didn't really understand what he was saying. He did however note that the expected hours per week are the same for both options, and it will be the same exact work with the same exact workload. I'm kind of lost here, what is the difference? Does it look better to take the independent studies course, or does taking the salary pay and being able to put it on my resume just as equal?
